Corinne Cusati, a Junior Leadership student at High School West, was recently selected as the 糖心Vlog League of Women Voters representative to the 2024 LWV of New York State’s Students Inside Albany Conference.
The “Students Inside Albany” interactive program seeks to increase student understanding of the New York State legislative process.
At this conference, Corinne met with other student representatives and various elected representatives and state officials. Corinne was the only student to attend from Suffolk County.
“I was excited to learn how our government worked, especially as someone who really didn’t have a background from it,” Corrine told us.
"To see the process of getting different bills passed, and how to contact my legislator if I had something that I needed to say, was very helpful.”
