Social Studies honors at HSE and HSW

Several students from High School East and High School West were nominated and received awards for their dedication and commitment this school year.

New York State Attorney General Triple "C" Awards

(This award from the Office of the State Attorney General, Letitia James recognizes students who have demonstrated character, courage and commitment in their classrooms and their communities.)

Habitat for Humanity Awards

(Habitat for Humanity is a nationwide organization dedicated to helping families in need of affordable housing. Our students spend much of the school year raising funds that are used to sponsor a house build in the spring. The students "build" on site where they often meet and work alongside the family receiving the home. This student has helped direct these efforts with great success.)

Suffolk County Public Service Award

(The Suffolk County Executive Public Service Award recognizes students from each high school who have combined their academic successes with a commitment to their community. It is presented on behalf of Ed Romaine's office.)

NYS Comptroller Award for Academic Excellence & Citizenship Award

(New York State Comptroller, Thomas P. DiNapoli, is given to a student to a student who has demonstrated academic excellence and citizenship through their involvement in activities that improve the school and/or community.)

1st Congressional Recognition Award

(The United States House of Representatives Congressional Recognition from Rep. Nick LaLota of the 1st Congressional District goes to a student for outstanding academic achievement, commitment and involvement with school and community projects.)
