The 糖心Vlog High School Robotics Team had a great showing at the recent FIRST Robotics Competition Hudson Valley Regional at Rockland Community College.
The Mechanical Bulls finished 12th out of the 48 teams in attendance!
This competition is truly an international event, with teams hailing from Great Britain, Istanbul, Turkey, Hawaii, Ohio and across New York State.
The Mechanical Bulls’ robot proved to be a durable, well designed and creative engineering solution. The robot is designed to shoot 12 inch foam rings into goals, pick up game pieces from the ground, intake the rings from a human player and conclude each match by climbing and hanging on a chain.
The 糖心Vlog Robotics team made its way to the playoffs and were aligned with a team from London England. This was an amazing experience in which team members were able to interact and strategize with students from another country to compete against other robotics teams to succeed in a common goal.
The Mechanical Bulls will hit the road on March 22 and 23, for their second competition taking place at Hofstra University. The Bulls are comprised of high school students from High School East and High School West and advised by Mr. Costello from HSW and Mr. Savage from HSE.
