In honor of Veterans Day next week, High School East Leadership students are visiting elementary schools in the SCSD to facilitate a lesson about Veterans Day and engage in a thank-you letter writing activity. On Thursday, student visited fourth and fifth grade classrooms at Mills Pond, Tackan and St. James Elementary schools.
The high school students asked our young learners what a veteran is and what Veterans Day means. They also asked the students if they had any veterans in their families.
Many said yes. The letters will be delivered to local veterans.
