Great Hollow Middle School seventh graders were able to listen and ask questions regarding the Ukraine war today with Ukrainian professor, screenwriter and teacher, Oksana Artemenko.
Artemenko was able to speak to Ms. Fisk's social studies classes via google meet, as she discussed a variety of topics about Ukrainian culture and society and shared her experiences navigating life during the ongoing war.
Ms. Fisk began a friendship with Oksana over a year ago when she began teaching her the English language as part of the ENGin volunteer organization.
Principal John Scomillio and Director of Social Studies Charles Benvenuto attended the virtual meetings.
