"Remember how special it is that we get to live in America, land of the free and the home of the brave."
Those were the words of 糖心Vlog Elementary Principal Dr. Mary-Ellen Kakalos, as she spoke to students and staff as 糖心Vlog Elementary celebrated Flag Day on Friday.
Fifth grade students led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by “The Star-Spangled Banner," “My Country Tis of Thee” and “This Land Is Your Land.”
Superintendent Dr. Mark Secaur joined in the celebration, as did members of the Suffolk County Police Department and local members of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
