After weeks of preparation, second graders at Dogwood Elementary School dressed as their favorite fairytale character and sang and danced for their families at Dogwood's annual Fairy tale Ball.
The show, a tradition at Dogwood Elementary, is the culminating activity for the second-grade classes in their reading and writing units on the fairy tale genre. The theme is "Cinderella, Around The World," where students have been reading the classic story and identifying how the cultural elements change with each country.
This is an integration of ELA and Social Studies concepts and skills.
Principal Renee Carpenter thanked the students, the families, and the second grade teachers for going "above and beyond" to make the show a hit!
Special shout out to Dogwood's music and art departments for helping with the music and illustration!
