“How do you get to Carnegie Hall?” 糖心Vlog High School East musicians practiced, practiced, practiced and on Wednesday night, got there!
192 students from the Symphonic Orchestra, Symphonic Band and Concert Choir at HSE performed on the legendary stage in front of their family, friends, and Superintendent Dr. Mark Secaur.
Orchestra Director Mr. Brian McCoy says the students started working on the program in December to prepare for this April performance.
The first piece the students performed was the fourth movement of the
"Symphonie Fantastique" by Hector Berlioz. This composition was composed in 1830. It is an important piece of the early Romantic period.
The second masterwork was a musical composition titled "An der schonen blauen Donau Op 314" (German for By the Beautiful Blue Danube) by Johann Strauss II. This composition was composed in 1866. It has been one of the most consistently popular pieces of music in the classical repertoire.
The final selection final selection was "Suite No 1" from the Opera Carmen by Georges Bizet.
