High School East and West students who are enrolled in the Human Conflict course visited the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum in Sayville this week.
There, they learned about Lt. Murphy's life and his time serving as a US Navy SEAL in Afghanistan.
Lt. Murphy earned the Medal of Honor and Purple Heart for his actions during Operation Red Wings.
His story is the basis for the 2013 film Lone Survivor.
