Third graders at Mt. Pleasant Elementary recently learned about their own family's culture and traditions during their social studies unit.
The students discussed how traditions are handed down from their family, and their culture comes from ancestors.
As part of this lesson, students had fun learning about their own ancestors’ traditions, culture, and accomplishments with their family, and then shared what they learned during Family History Day at MTP.
Students displayed their research, heirlooms, accomplishments, and important documents about their family.
This project was a "fun family affair" in discovering the history behind each family, as well as learning about important events from that era!
